HydroFlo Tech Chemical Reaction Systems

The HydroFlo chemical reaction systems are designed to deal with a myriad of water and wastewater treatment issues. Whether your application calls for a basic pH adjustment system or a complex multi-stage reaction system, HydroFlo can supply a system that will meet your process requirements.

HydroFlo manufactures two basic configurations of chemical reaction system, "batch" and "continuous flow".

Batch treatment systems are typically reserved for facilities that generate sporadic, low volume (less than 20,000 GPD) wastewaters. Although, higher flow rates have been treated on a batch basis. If your treating wastewater from multiple waste streams from different processes and multiple sources it is often more effective to treat each process separately than to merge the waste streams ant try to treat them with a single process.

Continuous flow treatment systems are available for treating flow rates from as little as 10 GPM to as much as 3,000 GPM.

10 GPM continuous flow

This little dynamo is ideal for the treatment and disposal of acidic or caustic waste batches as well as continuous flows (10 GPM) of process (prior to reuse) or wastewater (prior to discharge) that need pH neutralization or adjustment.

Built from the highest quality components this compact heavy duty package has features usually found in more expensive systems.

It comes pre-assembled, factory tested and is easy to install. Simple to operate and maintain. Everything you could want in an industrial duty package built to take all the abuse you can throw at it and still keep doing its job day in and day out.

Soda Ash / Lime Slurry blending system in stock available for sale or lease...

This mobile soda ash / lime slurry blending system features a 300 cubic foot hopper primary and a 1,000 gal two stage blending tank. This unit can generate up to 50 GPM of blended liquid soda ash or lime slurry. This is the finest blending system we produce and it includes all the bells and whistles.

  1. The primary metering hopper can be used with a automated "blown in" system that will automatically transfer the product as required or a manual system that utilizes supper sacks. Bin vents are included, for the filtration of the air stream, if you are using a "blown" transfer system. Proximity sensors monitor the solids level in the hopper

  2. The system is packaged in a custom 30' shipping container. A stock 40' container was cut to size and the remaining 10' was finished off as a storage container to house all the cables, hoses, spare parts, ext... that you might require at a remote location. the equipment was professionally finished and coated with the same high build epoxies we use on our industrial equipment. The unit comes with interior and exterior light packages as well as heaters that will keep the interior temperatures above freezing even when external temps reach -35F.

  3. For operator access (equipment maintenance and monitoring) we have incorporated two man doors (located on one side of the enclosure) and one maintained door (visible in the photo below). There is also the main cargo door located on the end of the equipment.

  4. The soda ash / lime slurry blending system comes equipped with a double drop trailer, but not just any double drop. This trailer is set up with a custom air bag system that allows you to set the trailer directly on the ground. All you have to do is position the clarifier where you want it, blow the air from the airbags and the clarifier will set right down on the ground. No cranes, no heavy equipment, no fuss, just drop this trailer where you want to treat and you are ready to go.

  5. This soda ash / lime slurry blending system can travel anywhere, any day, anytime without any permit requirements. That's right, this is the largest mobile soda ash / lime slurry blending package available that travels anywhere without over size load permits. Hook it up anytime (day or night) and haul it to your customers site an a moments notice. You can be up and operating within hours of arriving at your customers site.

As with the soda ash / lime slurry blending system, the pump systems and controls are the finest available. The effluent pump package features variable speed centrifugal pumps. These pump controls can be tied into your overall PLC control system to proportionally control the effluent as needed. The flow meters and sensors used are top notch industrial duty devices that are designed to operate under the harshest of environments.

  1. One (1) effluent pump package with the following features:

    1. Two (2) 50 GPM centrifugal pumps (one operating and one standby)
    2. Inlet and outlet isolation valves
    3. Main effluent actuated shut off valve
    4. Pressure gauges with isolators
    5. local power disconnect
    6. Flow meter
      1. Feedbacks to the variable speed control system.
  2. Local control panel with the following features:

    1. NEMA 4x panel

    2. One (1) VFD for controlling the influent and sludge pump packages

    3. Local PLC featuring our proprietary pH control program as well as the controls for the ancillary mixing and pumping systems

    4. "Emergency Stop" and "Soft Stop" switch station with "circle" guard

    5. 100 feet of interconnecting cables (as required) for tying into your power source and ancillary system controls.

pH Neutralization system
in stock
available for sale or lease...

This mobile pH Neutralization system features a 2000 gal primary and a 2000 gal secondary neutralization cells. This unit can handle typical process flows in the range of 200 to 350 GPM (0-500 GPM max operating range) depending on the desired operational efficiency and the alkalinity (buffering cpacity) of the wastewater being treated. This is the finest neutralization system we produce and it includes all the bells and whistles.

  1. The pH neutralization system is a two stage system. The primary neutralization cell performs gross equalization and features two (one operating and one standby) 250 GPH Grundfos metering pumps. The setup can be reconfigured to bring both pumps on line if required. The secondary neutralization cell fine tunes the equalization and features two (one operating and one standby) 100 GPH Grundfos metering pumps. As with the gross equalization stage, this setup can be reconfigured to bring both pumps on line if required.

  2. The system is packaged in a custom 30' shipping container. HydroFlo solves complex engineering issues with the creative use of plastics...

When HydroFlo was picked as the supplier of the chemical reaction (wastewater treatment) system for the Navy's sub base in Bangor, they forgot to tell us one thing. The maximum allowable floor loading was only a mere 250 lbs per square foot.

This presented us with a rather difficult issue to resolve. The original design called for steel fabrications (approx 7 feet tall) which calculated out to a floor loading of over 450 lbs per square foot. Even when we reduced the height of the system to a minimum, we were still over the max design load. That is when we turned to plastics. Not only were we able to reduce the floor loadings to within the acceptable guidelines, but the change to polypropylene eliminated all the corrosion issues associated with carbon steel construction. The customer is thrilled with the overall installation.

Check out the photo to the above left. The entire vessel is supported by a false floor which elevates the entire unit (all 22,000 lbs) to allow for gravity flow into the clarifier.

HydroFlo's state of the art pH neutralization system ...

HydroFlo incorporates all the features you have come to expect (such as our proprietary PID loops, etc...) we incorporate many features not found on other systems.

For example, we install all our pH probes on wet tap assemblies that allow you to easily remove the probe from the tanks sidewall for testing, cleaning and calibration. No more pulling probes from the top of the equipment on long unwieldy bayonets. Now you just pull & twist and the probe is easily removed, with no drips, from the tanks sidewall. Also, when the probe is removed from the tank for maintenance, we provide a convenient snap in bracket for holding the probe. Now the probe will remain submerged in a cup of buffer solution for testing or cleaning. This is the ultimate in for hands free convenience.
